Privatizing Medicare Is A Horrible Idea!

Medical Care From Companies Traded on the Stock Market Should Not Exist!

For profit medical care should not exist. Medical care is a community support enterprise, and should not be driven by profit.

The CEO of a corporation traded on the stock market is legally bound to do what is necessary to provide profit to the stock holders, and nothing else. Some will say that is not true, but here it is in plan English. A CEO is obligated to act in the interest of the share holders. And why are the share holders holding shares? Profit! Anyone who says that share holders want something other than profit are lying. Any benefit to the patients of a medical care company of this type is not at all the focus of the leaders of said company. It is possible it could be a side effect in certain situations, but no matter what they tell you they are striving for, it is guaranteed that profit comes before the patient’s well being or health outcome. This is by law. A CEO could not provide a better outcome to a patient at the expense of profit (the share holder’s interests)without breaking the law.

This is the main reason that ideas such as privatizing Medicare is such an insane idea to all except the investors that stand to profit from the nations Medicare dollars.

Why is this so hard for people to understand? As it is Medicare is focused on providing health care to it’s recipients. That is it’s purpose. But there are people that would love to take it over, and make the focus profit for some rich investors.

I hear the same story all the time about the idea that there would be no innovation without the lure of profit. This is Bull Shit people, plain and simple. The cost of innovation is simply the cost of innovation, and we need to include that cost in the price of medical care no doubt. But profit is a cost that is nothing more than a empty cost. Paying for yachts is not paying for research, paying for research is paying for research. We should be paying for scientists to research directly, we do not need to be paying to create billionaires at the same time.

Don’t believe what the corporate interests tell us about about privatizing Medicare. The health insurance companies weaseling their way into Medicare need to be stopped. They are telling lies to get your Medicare dollars.

Stop corporate profiteers from ransacking our institutions.
